法新社報導，陳艾森與林躍在6個回合的比賽沒受任何威脅，並在第5跳以前翻4圈半抱膝的高難度動作，贏得裁判9.5及10分的高分，為最終奪冠奠定基礎。
陳艾森與林躍最終摘金，比銀牌的美國隊包狄亞（David Boudia）/強生（Steele Johnson）高39.87分。銅牌則是英國隊的戴利（Tom Daley）/古德菲洛（Daniel Goodfellow）。
25歲的林躍成為贏得兩面男子10公尺跳台跳水金牌的第一人。他表示，榮耀要歸給雙親，因為小時候父母把房子都變賣，就為支持他跳水。
